Chamber Committees
Annual Meeting

     Our annual meeting is a time to review and celebrate our accomplishments and socialize with our friends and business associates.  The annual meeting has been an important part of the Chamber's activities since 1916.  We've heard keynote addresses from governors, astronauts, sports figures, motivational speakers and even comedians.

Strategic Plan Responsibility

Goal 3:  Ensure the Chamber is a strong, stable organization

Strategy:  Communication  Use a variety of tools and media to communicate with our members

Committee Focus:  Develop, plan and manage the annual membership meeting.

Examples of Activities

• Solicit a speaker or program
• Develop a menu for the dinner or reception
• Create a program and decorations
• Sell tickets

Authority:  Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors.  Can develop additional activities to support the above strategies.  Can develop sub-committees or ad hoc committees to address specific committee activities. 

Budget:  The 2009 budget includes a net profit of $4,300 for the Annual Meeting Committee.

Schedule:  The annual meeting is typically held in April, but can be in March or May depending upon the speaker's schedule.  The committee should begin meeting in November..

Measurements of Success:  Ensuring that the Strategic Plan is a living, breathing document, the Executive Committee will continually evaluate the appropriateness of the Plan's goals. The Executive Committee will also evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies and activities. On at least an annual basis, this committee will be evaluated on:

• Membership attendance at the dinner
• Financial performance compared to the budget
