Marigold Golf Tournament Committee

     The Pekin area has a number of assets that contribute to a vibrant business environment.  "Quality of Life" events like the Marigold Golf Tournament are among those assets.  The Chamber assumes a leadership role, collaborating with others to maintain, improve and expand upon the events.

Strategic Plan Responsibility

Goal 2:  Stimulate community growth

Strategy:  Quality of Life  Assume a leadership role in events that add to the quality of life for area residents.

Committee Focus:  The planning, management and improvement of the Women's Marigold Festival Golf Outing.

Examples of Activities

• Develop new methods to improve the quality of the tournament.
• Seek out and collaborate with organizations who can assist the Chamber in improving the quality of the existing tournament.

Authority:  Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors.  Can develop additional activities to support the above strategies.  Can develop sub-committees or ad hoc committees to address specific committee activities. 

Budget:  The 2008 budget includes a net profit of $1,273 for the Women's Marigold Golf Outing.

Schedule:  The Women's Marigold Golf Outing is held in late August.  The committee meets on an "as needed" basis during the months leading up to the tourney.

Measurements of Success:  Ensuring that the Strategic Plan is a living, breathing document, the Executive Committee will continually evaluate the appropriateness of the Plan's goals. The Executive Committee will also evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies and activities. On at least an annual basis, this committee will be evaluated on:

• Quality of the tournament
• Participant reaction and comments about the tournament
• Financial performance of the tournament compared to the budget
