Member Promotions Committee

     There's strength in numbers, and this Chamber group wants to take advantage of those economies of scale.  The Member Promotions Committee offers our membership high-impact promotional opportunities at a price that is more economical than they could arrange on their own. 

Strategic Plan Responsibility

Goal 4:  Create promotional opportunities for our members

Strategy:  Shared Promotions  Provide our members with promotional opportunities that take advantage of the Chamber's economies of scale.

Committee Focus:  Primarily develop events and activities that allow our members to promote themselves to the public.  The main activity of this committee is the annual Business Expo.

Examples of Activities

• Sell promotional sponsorships on our website.
• Distribute a welcome packet to new area residents.
• Coordinate a Business Expo.
• Coordinate shared advertising opportunities in local media for our members.

Authority:  Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors.  Can develop additional activities to support the above strategies.  Can develop additional sub-committees or ad hoc committees to address specific committee activities. 

Budget:  The 2008 budget assumes that expenses for all shared promotions are offset by revenues from the promotion.  Additionally, the budget includes a profit of $3,000 from the Business Expo, which this committee coordinates oversee. 

Schedule:  The Member Promotions committee will meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30am at the Chamber office.

Measurements of Success:  Ensuring that the Strategic Plan is a living, breathing document, the Executive Committee will continually evaluate the appropriateness of the Plan's goals. The Executive Committee will also evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies and activities. On at least an annual basis, this committee will be evaluated on:

• Quality and quantity of member promotions
• Level of member participation in the promotions
• Financial performance, compared to the budget
