Chamber Committees
Member Services Committee

One of the primary benefits of chamber membership is networking - the opportunity to meet, socialize, interact, and do business with other business people. We coordinate events that provide those networking opportunities.

Strategic Plan Responsibility

Goal 4:  Create promotional opportunities for our members

Strategy:  Shared Promotions  Provide our members with promotional opportunities that take advantage of the Chamber's economies of scale.

Committee Focus:  Develop, plan and manage events and activities that allow members to promote themselves to other members.

Examples of Activities

  • Coordinate a Business & Community Recognition Luncheon
  • Coordinate a monthly "Business After Hours" event
  • Develop and implement plans that will improve member attendance and interaction at these events
  • Ensure that all committees understand the need to include a networking element in their event, committee, or project
  • Provide training opportunities for our members

Authority:  Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors. Can develop additional activities to support the above strategies.  Can develop additional sub-committees or ad hoc committees to address specific committee activities.

Budget:  There is $1,800 budgeted as net income for the Member Services committee, as profit from the Lunch 'n Learn series and the Business and Community Recognition Luncheon.

Schedule:  The Member Services committee meets on the second Tuesdays of each month at 7:30am at the Chamber office.

Committee Members

  • Renna Hadsall, Busey Bank
  • Drew Leman, Board Liaison, Monge Property Management
  • Karen Lewis, Gallatin River Communications
  • Rose Melz, Illinois Collections Unlimited
  • Christie Perry, Pekin Hospital
  • Dennis Short, Herget Bank
  • Debbie Rathmel, KCB Info Services

Measurements of Success:  Ensuring that the Strategic Plan is a living, breathing document, the Executive Committee will continually evaluate the appropriateness of the Plan's goals. The Executive Committee will also evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies and activities. On at least an annual basis, this committee will be evaluated on:

  • Quality of activities
  • Membership participation in the activities
  • Financial performance compared to the budget for the division and sub-committees
