Pekin Insurance Miss Marigold Pageant - The "Miss Marigold" Pageant began in 1973 and continues to be a highlight of the Pekin Marigold Festival celebration.  It is an opportunity for young women to compete in the categories of talent, personal interview, sportswear, and evening gown in order to win scholarship money.  The pageant is open to single women who are 17-21 years old and who live or work in the city of Pekin.  The 2007 Pekin Insurance Miss Marigold Pageant was held on July 21st at F.M. Petersen Theater in Pekin Community High School.  Congratulations to Miss Congeniality, Jeana Ingolia; 2nd Runner-up, Jamie Morgan; First Runner-up, Bryn Golden; and, Miss Marigold Kaleigh Tarpley.  Also, congratulations to contestants Tia Logan and JoElle Schramm.  Below are photos from the pageant.  Click on the thumbnails to view larger pictures.

The committee and volunteers were busy checking last minute stage adjustments prior to opening the doors.  The emcee for the evening was Pekin Mayor Dave Tebben.  The judges included Denise Green, Dan Taylor, and Darcy Anderson.

Entertainment was provided by the Senior Co. Edge Dance Team, under the direction of Jill Crouch from United Starz Academy Dance Studio.  Also, some of the Little Miss & Mr. winners from 2006 were invited on stage for a brief introduction with the emcee.

The votes were counted and the announcements were made:  Miss Congeniality, Jeana Ingolia; 2nd Runner-up, Jamie Morgan; 1st Runner-up, Bryn Golden; and Miss Marigold 2007, Kaleigh Tarpley.

      

After the announcements, the stage was flooded with friends, family and well-wishers.
