We used Pic Stitch in our class to help students have a concrete way of seeing details to include in their writing. We took pictures of the students that we had on the iPad camera roll and students choose a picture. Each student was able to add different stickers and alter the pictures in a fun way. After students altered their pictures they told me the story that went with the picture, including the characters, setting, problem, and solution. After telling me the story that went with the pictures the students completed a story map and then wrote in story form. This has really helped my students know in a concrete way how to add details, whether to a picture or to a story. As always when using the iPad, the students loved the activity! |
