I have used the ipads in many of my lessons. We study one letter per week in preschool. Since we are so far along in the school year we are reviewing tons! I have used the iPads to help with letter recognition, and letter formation. One app I used was to help strengthen these skills and reinforce prior knowledge. The students were presented with a letter and their job was to trace over the letter in the correct numbered formation. After correctly tracing over the letter the students were then able to move on to a new letter. This app has also helped with number recognition and formation. I felt like the iPads gave my students a different avenue to practice cooperative play, turn taking, conflict resolution, using toys and classroom materials in a responsible way, and helped to foster a higher level of independence. I started off introducing the ipads to my students with apps such as Baking, and Lego's to help them get acquainted with navigating the device. After they have practiced, they have been using them independently ever since.
