In August, the District prepares a tentative budget and makes it available for public inspection for at least 30 days prior to adoption. At least one public hearing will be held prior to the budget adoption. Notices of the public hearing and availability of the budget for public inspection are published in a newspaper in the District at least 30 days prior to the public hearing. In September, in the 1st quarter of each fiscal year, the budget will be adopted. The District must file the budget with the State Board of Education and the County Clerk within 30 days of the budget adoption.

The District provides reports on the budget on a quarterly basis. These reports include up-to-date revenues and expenses with comparisons to the prior year and include cash and investment values.
