Assessment Overview

AIMSweb - AIMSweb is a web-based assessment, data management, and reporting system that is designed specifically to universally screen and progress monitor. AIMSweb assessments are used as universal screeners in D108 for grades K-2 in math and reading as well as a tool for progress monitoring math, writing, and oral reading fluency in grades K-8. AIMSweb Testing Protocol - Protocol for administering M-CAP and M-COMP is contained in the AIMSweb binders. All other AIMSweb assessments are administered using Browser-Based Scoring.  Protocol for those assessments is embedded in each test. For an overview of Browser-Based Scoring see this video link which demonstrates scoring of Oral Reading Fluency (GR 1-3), Letter Naming Fluency (GR Kdg), and Oral Counting Measure (GR Kdg).

Performance Series - Performance Series is an online standards-based, computer-adaptive measurement. Performance Series is the universal screener in D108 for grades 3-8 in math and reading. Enter the Performance Series site here.

Read this Performance Series script prior to the start of the test in fall, winter, and spring.

Grades K-2 will be piloting Performance Series Foundations for reading and math during the 2013-14 school year.

BAS - The Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System (BAS) links assessment to instruction along The Continuum of Literacy Learning. This assessment is given one-on-one to students in grades 1-3 in fall, winter, and spring and in Kindergarten in the winter and spring.

STAR Reading Enterprise (from Renaissance Place) - The STAR Reading Enterprise assessments include new skills-based test items, and new in-depth reports for screening, instructional planning, progress monitoring and standards benchmarking. STAR is administered as the D108 progress monitoring tool for comprehension and in some classrooms as a benchmark or benchmark and progress-monitoring tool. The testing protocol and administering directions for STAR can be found on the Rensaissance Place site.  Login and under the STAR Reading tab, click Resources, then Pretest-Instructions Enterprise Test. The student-friendly test directions can be displayed on the SMART Board. Directions should be read to the students before the test begins in fall, winter, and spring.  Students being progress monitored with STAR do not need the directions read every two weeks; read only as necessary between benchmark periods.
