Friends of the Pekin Public Library meet quarterly and focus public attention on the library, stimulate the use of the library’s resources and services and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the library. Membership applications are available at the Library’s circulation desk. Membership dues are as low as $1 for an individual and $10 for a family.

On the last Friday of the month fill a bag of books (both hardback and paper) for just $1. Bags are supplied.

Drop off your pre-read books at the Library!
Your donations are sold by the Friends of the Library in the book sale room and at two large book sales. In the past 15 years, the Friends have raised more than $100,000 to benefit the Library and made thousands of booklovers happy.

To donate books, drop them off at the circulation desk during regular library hours.

We accept donations of hardback and paperback books for both adults and juveniles. We are specifically in need of quality paperbacks. Materials we are not able to accept include:

• National Geographic magazines
• Reader's Digest Condensed Books
• text books more than 5 years old
• incomplete sets of encyclopedias
• encyclopedias more than 10 years old
