Preschool – 8th grade District 108 uses the Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Model for continuous improvement. The district values training, using it to encourage both individual and organizational innovation and excellence. The district also values customer feedback, using it to guide improvement efforts. At District 108, student performance in reading, writing and mathematics rates above achievement goals set by the State of Illinois. Students demonstrate extracurricular success by capturing state and world competition titles (Band, Suzuki Orchestra, Scholastic Bowl, Athletics, Destination/Imagination, Young Authors). Among the list of District 108's awards and accolades is the US Department of Education's Blue Ribbon Excellence Award, presented to Dirksen and Willow Elementary Schools. District 108 also received a Bronze Award in 2004 from the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence and was a 2004 recipient of the Bright Star Award.
