The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a "Meet the Candidate" night for the 18th Congressional race. About 100 Chamber members and community leaders attended.  All four candidates (Jim McConoughey, John Morris, Aaron Schock, and Dick Versace) participated.  The event was co-sponsored by the Dirksen Congressional Center, Herget Bank, Illinois American Water and Midwest Generation.

The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, along with the past-presidents of the organization, their spouses, and guests enjoyed a holiday dinner at Grumpy Pete's Steakhouse in lieu of their regular monthly meeting.  Stuffed animals were brought to be donated to the Tazewell County Children's Advocacy Center.
