Where we are:
-
Everyone on our staff has heard and understands our vision. We still have
a few that resists at times and drag their feet at the implementation of
it
Where we want to be:
-
We’d like everyone to have an active role in the development and implementation
of our on-going vision.
-
We would like more sharing of instructional methods between staff.
-
We’d like to acquire our wish list.
Actions necessary to get there:
-
Reactivate the Technology Committee and charge it to share our vision
-
Use of a SIP half-day in sharing projects, technology in the classroom,
etc.
-
Creation of an Edison Portfolio of projects.
-
Raise money, write grants, use fundraiser money and change the mindset
of staff in the use of building facilities. (“Break out of the box”)
-
Arrange building visits and share ideas after returning (Use of classified
subs)
Resources necessary to get there:

Set calendar for Technology Committee Meetings.

Use of TV studio, room 1, room 25 and room 43 as presentation rooms.

Where we are:
-
We have all the capabilities but the location of ports is a hindrance to
instruction and setup.
-
We do not have an adequate number of ports in the learning center, in room
23, and the rooms we hope to use for presentation labs.
-
Missing ports in cafeteria, gyms, discourse lab?, and work rooms
-
We have a Discourse lab (only 25 stations work), half a lab of Pentium
computers in the learning center, old computers in room 23 (26), all but
5 staff with computers, eleven staff with 5 computers in their classrooms,
four digital cameras, fax machine, four scanners, fifteen rooms with monitors
(most mounted), sufficient numbers of VCRs and TVs, five video discs, one
video camera, new tech center equipment.
Where we want to be:

We want ports moved

We want ports put in to all necessary rooms

Upgrade Discourse Lab
-
We want Pentium computers in room 23, half a lab in Learning Center, a
computer for our presentation station in the learning center.

We want our entire wish list.
Actions necessary to get there:

Tech Committee / Administrators / Learning Center Teacher have to communicate
port needs, hub needs, equipment needs, etc. to the district and maintenance
staff.

Tech Committee needs to communicate with and brainstorm with our staff
on needs.

Nights, Parent – Teacher Conferences, Dirksen Center Partnership,, Fine
Arts Fair, PTA, Graduation, Parent’s Nights, Learning Center volunteer,
use of Gyms by Union Mission, Newsletters mailed, “Headline News: Junior
High Views”, and rentals.
