The
group met and responded to the following questions:
Why would we choose to build at this site (Wilson School);
Should we add on to a K-3 structure to house Pre-K?
The
possibilities being investigated were as follows.
- (1)New
building at Wilson to support grades 4-6 and move
all pre-school to a remodeled Wilson
- (2)Remodel
Wilson as a 4-6 building and add on to all or some
of the K-3 buildings
- (3)Eliminate
Dirksen and redraw boundaries and do either of the
above options (1 or 2)
- (4)Build
a new building at an existing campus (+ indicates
available space, - indicates lack of available space):
BJHS (+), Edison (-), Sunset (+), Willow (-), Starke
(-), Wilson (+), Jefferson (-)
- (5)Build
at a new location, i.e. Park District, City land,
High School land (buy or trade land)
- (6)West
Campus
- (7)Build
a new Broadmoor Junior High School at Wilson facility
and move the intermediate school to BJHS
- (8)Build
a new pre-K structure and remodel Wilson for 4-6
The
following could be used to evaluate each of the proposals.
A + and – could be used to determine appropriateness.
A + if the factor is favorable and a – if it is not
favorable.
