Minutes - Parameters Sub-committee – Wilson Infrastructure

The parameters sub-committee of the Wilson Infrastructure met at Wilson School on 6-4-98 from 5:30 until 6:30. Those in attendance were: Cathy Veerman, Pam Scoles, Kirk DeFrates, Linda Harris, Karen Preston and Jim Drainer. The group continued work on brainstorming possible configurations/locations of Pre-K and 4-6 structures as well as the development of a matrix to evaluate the possible configurations/locations.

Additional possibilities are:

  1. House Pre-K in an existing community structure (i.e. Kroger) and remodel or build a new Wilson.

An addition to the matrix was the inclusion of Learning Environment.

The complete lists of possibilities at this time are:

  • (2)Remodel Wilson as a 4-6 building and add on to all or some of the K-3 buildings
  • (3)Eliminate Dirksen and redraw boundaries and do either of the above options (1 or 2)
  • (4)Build a new building at an existing campus (+ indicates available space, - indicates lack of available space): BJHS (+), Edison (-), Sunset (+), Willow (-), Starke (-), Wilson (+), Jefferson (-)
  • (5)Build at a new location, i.e. Park District, City land, High School land (buy or trade land)
