
S.A.B.I.D.
was a one year program designed to assist local area
organizations with developing a web site.
Organizations who signed up for assistance was matched
with a high school student who assisted them with their
organizations needs. The program was sponsored
and funded by the Pekin.net Community Network.
Pekin.net was responsible for training the students,
providing technical support for the students, paying
student wages, and matching the students with specific
organizations. The organizations were responsible
for providing content and design suggestions to the
high school students. Applications for both local area
organizations and high school students were due by May
15, 1999. All applicants were contacted regarding
their status no later than May 30, 1999.
High school students began work on June 14, 1999 and
continued throughout the summer and into next school
year.
