The Growing 108-ISU PDS Partnership
District 108 welcomed 70 Illinois State University Early Childhood (EC) Majors this past Friday. The college students came to learn about the development of the Pekin District 108 - ISU Early Childhood Professional
Development School. The 2002-2003 School Year will provide up to 20 ISU Senior EC students with the opportunity to join the district as interns for a full school year of learning and teaching. The district currently has a very successful K-6 Professional Development School partnership with ISU. District 108 and ISU will build upon this success to include an EC component, which focuses upon teaching 3 and 4 year olds, in the district Professional Development School.

During the ISU students visit, Superintendent Soldwedel welcomed the students and ISU professors, Pekin District PDS Liaison and Early Childhood staff members provided information regarding the upcoming EC partnership. The morning concluded by sharing "I Hope You Dance", a powerpoint set to music by the same name, which highlights components of the district Early Childhood program.
