| Red,
White, and Blue Day
Edison Junior High observed Red, White,
and Blue Day at an assembly in conjunction
with our fundraiser kick-off. The students
observed a moment of silence for the victims
of the terrorist attacks that took place
on Tuesday, September 11th in New York City
and Washington, D.C.
Students led the faculty and student body
in receiting the "Pledge of Allegience"
and the "National Anthem." As
another show of unity, the students are
donating money to help out the American
Red Cross. The staff will then match whatever
the students donate.
Students
and staff at Washington have shown their
concern over the tragedies experienced this
week by our fellow Americans. Washington
School contributed over $700.00 to the Red
Cross. We participated in Red, White, and
Blue Day, and have hung streamers and made
flags in honor of the missing and dead.
Caring
Kids' Coins is a program sponsored by the
United Way. Children contribute their pennies
to help those in need in New York. C.B.
Smith students are lining up this week to
make their contributions. |
