| Koalaty
Kid Conference
Several Pekin School District 108 faculty and
administrators attended the National Koalaty Kid
Conference held April 20-23 in Schaumburg, Illinois.
The conference provided opportunities for educators
across the United States and from Sweden, the
Netherlands, India, and South Africa to share
ideas on how to help students improve their learning.
The Koalaty Kid program is under sponsorship of
the American Society for Quality and embraces
the Baldridge improvement process.
The
conference provided opportunities to visit classrooms
in Chicago North West Suburban districts as well
as to hear strategies that are producing excellent
results from across the country.
District
108 was represented during the presentations by
Pam Rosa and Mary Lange. Rosa and Lange provided
a session for participants to learn quality tools
and techniques for developing and sustaining shared
leadership at all levels- classroom, school, and
district. Superintendent Perry Soldwedel was recently
appointed to the National Board of Directors of
the Koalaty Kid Alliance and represented the District
at a panel discussion on leadership and sustainability
of quality initiatives.
