School Board Approves New Superintendent Don White
The school board held a special meeting on March 4 to approve action on a contract with the new superintendent, Don White, and to introduce him to the staff and community. Don White is currently the superintendent of the Pleasant Plains K-12 School District. He has been in that position for the last two years. Prior to his tenure in Pleasant Plains, he spent three years in the Champaign School District as first the Director of Educational Technology and then the Deputy Superintendent. Don has also been a fourth grade teacher in Mahomet, Illinois, an assistant principal in Dwight, Illinois and a principal in LeRoy, Illinois. Don received his Bachelors of Science degree from Western Illinois University in elementary education. He received his Masters of Education degree form the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and currently is working on his doctorate at Illinois State University.
