Confirm the Superintendent’s 00-01 "CHARGE" to the District Staff Development Committee. (9/26/00) Three subcommittees will address the following issues:
Provide orientation related to re-certification legal mandates, procedures, and assistance in developing Certificate Renewal Plans.
Design CEU and CPDU offerings as part of the District Academy for both tenured and non-tenured staff.
Review, refine and communicate processes related to incentives available for re-certification efforts to include tuition reimbursement, tuition waivers, course approvals, CPDU approvals, etc. Confirm and convene the LPDC (Local Professional Development Committee). Membership: 3 classroom teachers and 2 administrative representatives & alternates per ISBE requirements. Attain ISBE "Provider" status to award CPDUs – Continuing Professional Developmnet Units. |

CEU/CPDU: Evaluate, redesign the district’s current Teacher Academy to address both tenure and non-tenure staff professional development needs for initial and re-certification purposes. Incentives: Review, refine current practices related to incentives available to staff.
