Mrs. Quintiliani and Mrs. Sparks had lots of fun with their students in reading. They first hand-made many, many little mice (out of felt) and added a touch of Christmas with some candy canes. Then they hand delievered their mice to students at Dirksen School along with a story. Junior high students reading to primary students Christmas stories...and some of the adults even got a story or two read!
The Pekin Junior High Band and Jazz Band gave a rousing performance at Edison. A huge thank you to Mr. Perrilles and Mrs. Janssen for all of their hard work with the band.
Our Broadmoor boys basketball team played two tough games December 12 against Normal Chiddix. Our boys were defeated in both games, but played really hard.
Our boys basketball teams have more than a few games under their belt now. They have been playing hard and showing lots of improvement. The next game is tonight, December 12, home, against Normal Chiddix.

Student Council has been collecting "Coins for Christmas" at both lunches from the students. The money will be used to buy presents for a family in need this Christmas. Students have been giving generous donations and have really supported the effort. Thank you Student Council and Mrs. Nelson for all of your hard work.
"A Patriotic Concert" was the theme of the Christmas Choir Concert which took place Monday evening. The students were all dressed in WWII atire complete with military uniforms."Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Boogie Woogie Holiday," "Alexander's Ragtime Band," "America the Beautiful," and "A Patriotic Salute" were some of the selections that the students sang. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the concert, directed by Mrs. Roeder.

Congratulations to the Speech Team for their excellent showing on November 15th.The students and their coach, Mrs. Chenoweth, worked very hard preparing for the contest.
The boys basketball team has started their season in full force. The boys played in the Pekin 108 Thanksgiving Tournament last week to start off their season. Broadmoor hosted the final games Tuesday night, November 26. Congratulations to the 7th Grade Team for taking 2nd place in the tournament. The 8th grade team took home the 4th place trophy. We are looking forward to a great season of basketball!
