| Broadmoor's Student Council hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, January 28th. Teachers and parents donated their blood and students assisted in the process. A huge thank-you to Mrs. Nelson and the student council for all of their time and energy in planning the blood drive. |
| Students in Mrs. Wicker's classroom read the novel, On My Honor. This is a touching story of two young boys who are close friends. Tony was always daring Joel to do crazy stunts. Joel was always very cautious. His father had tried to teach Joel to think before acting and to consider dangers involved. Officer Chris Bitner visited the class and spoke about the meaning of honor and being an honorable person. He said that there is a two-second rule: if you have to think about doing something for two seconds, do not do it because it is probably wrong. You do not have to think about doing the right thing because it is automatic. |
| Congratulations to Mrs. Roeder and her husband on the birth of their son! Baby Isaiah Matthais was born on January 16. All are doing well, just a little tired. Mrs. Roeder was the music teacher at Broadmoor. We wish the new family lots of happiness! |
| Mrs. Wicker and her Language Arts students were busy learning about Martin Luther King, Jr. After studying the famous civil rights leader, the students were able to respond in various ways. The three published here were also published in the Journal Star on Monday. |
| Mrs. Nevius' classes finished their Christmas poems
just before break. They were given a Christmas card and had to draw
a picture and write a Christmas poem using only prepositions to start
each line. Great job with the poems and great artwork! 2nd hour 3rd hour 4th hour 5th hour |
