Students (and a few teachers!) enjoyed the Mega Event on Wednesday, May 30. The event was a celebration of Broadmoor students meeting their goal for the Kathryn Beich fundraiser. Students were able to rotate around to four different activities. We're not sure who actually had more fun--the students or the teachers!

Mrs. Sharon Heilman visited Broadmoor and shared stories of her voyage to Antarctica with Team 7B. Mr. Tim Noonen had corresponded with Mrs. Heilman throughout her stay there and arranged for her to speak with the students personally. She shared exciting stories of life close to the South Pole--very knowledgeable lady! Mrs. Heilman is a retired R.N. and was great inspiration for living your dreams.

One of the last units in the 8H Language Arts/Social Studies classes was WWII and the Holocaust. In the language arts classes, 8H students read the play, Anne Frank, and performed two of the scenes. Props were used and parts were practiced and memorized. Hopefully, some of these students may wish to take drama classes at PCHS.
Mr. Heisel introduced his 8S students to physics by conducting some outdoor activities via the roof-top of Broadmoor. Students stayed on the ground where it was safe...as long as Mr. Heisel controlled his dropping ball experiments!

Mr. Heisel and Mrs. Borsch recently teamed up to give Broadmoor's outside entry a "touch up" job. New landscaping with student-created stepping stones was added to a very desolate looking area. Students were aided in their efforts by Mr. Gary Nevius, who demonstrated how to make the stepping stones using glass mosiac. Pekin Glass and Mirror provided materials at cost and also donated some items to the project. A huge thank-you to all involved in this project. The new area and plantings are very nice!
