Red Green’s Duct Tape Forever!

Review By Bill Murphy

This novel is based on the ever popular but not well known Red Green Show , that can be seen on PBS. I think the Red Green Show is very good. If you’ve never seen the show, It’s about an old man named Red who has a nephew named Harold. He is the head honcho at Opossum Lodge. The lodge is where the guys at Opossum Lake hang out. The lodge is fined $10,000. The guys have ten days to get the money or the lodge will be destroyed. So they enter a Duct Tape building contest. Red and Harold head off to America; they hope to win third place. If you want to find out how it ends, you’ll have to see this exciting movie. 5 out of 5 stars.

Slake’s Limbo

By: Felice Holma

Review By: Nick Svendsen and Mitch Green

Aremis Slake is a 13 year old who is troubled, abused, and harassed to the breaking point. Growing up in the 1970’s was unbearable for Slake. Between bullies and a horrid home life, he is driven underground to the subways of New York. Living in the subway, he stumbles upon a four by eight foot hole in the wall of the subway. This room was accidentally built during the construction of the Commodore Hotel. Slake, in order to get food, has two jobs. He sells news papers that he finds on the ground and on trains. For his other job, he sweeps up the floor at a cafe. Slake has one friend, a rat, and they live in the hole together and survive on each other’s company and Slake’s food from the café.

Slake’s Limbo is an unforgettable novel.
