PRINCIPALS IN THE PARK
Dr. Jeffry Nelson and Mr. Greg
Fairchild will be holding an open meeting for all BJHS parents at the Pekin
Park Pavilion on Thursday, September 13 beginning at 6:30 pm. There will be
refreshments provided. The purpose of the meeting is to simply give parents a
chance to introduce themselves and to ask any questions they may have about
Broadmoor Junior High. We look forward to meeting all of you.

SCHOOL FUNDRAISER
Broadmoor will be holding an
all-school fundraiser in September. We will be working with Kathryn Beich. The
money raised will go directly to items geared toward student learning. Last
year, the money raised was primarily used to purchase five new computers for the
computer lab. We will nedd your help in assuring another successful fundraiser.
An all-school assembly will be held Tuesday, September 11 to kick off the
fundraiser. Students and parents will be getting all the information on this
date.

Congratulations to the moms!!
Mrs. Chenoweth had a baby boy, Ian Michael and will be on
maternity leave until mid-October.
Mrs. Link had a baby girl, Kerrigan Elizabeth and will be
on maternity leave until late November. Check out the Broadmoor webpage for

WEDDING BELLS HAVE RUNG!
Miss Moran,
our music teacher, tied the knot this summer and got married. Her new last name
is Roeder.
Miss Schoenfeld, our CBI teacher, also was married this
summer. Her new last name is Donaldson.

PLAYING THE PARENTING EDGE
The Counseling Center at Proctor
Hospital will be conducting a community workshop titled Playing the Parenting
Edge. This workshop is presented as a three week series, meeting on Thursday
evenings 6:30 to 8:30 pm on September 13, 20, and 27th. Targeted
parent population are those who parent children in middle school and high
school. Topics will center around managing adolescent defiance and avoiding the
parental heartache of adolescent rebellion. Using the Active Parenting of Teen
series, parents will learn effective parenting by offering choices and following
through with appropriate consequences. Presentation is conducted by a licensed
counseling therapist, with videos, and parenting booklets. Cost of the workshop
is $20 per family. Call 689-6008 to register or for more information.
