Christmas Poems

2nd Hour

"A Christmas Party"
by: Rikki Cottrell

Through the countryside,
Over the hills,
Across the snow,
Here for the thrills,
On our long way
To a Christmas party today,
With my excitement taking over me,
By the time we get there,
Snow is glittering,
As far as the eye can see,
Laughing and chattering,
Gossip and cheer,
What a wonderful time,
We had this year!

by: Brenna Towery

'Twas the night before Christmas,
:On a cold, winter night,
The starts were all shining,
And the moon was so bright.
Beside the house stood the snowman,
Underneath the tree of green.
"Twas not the largest snowman,
Or the leanest I'd ever seen.
Upon his head was a tophat,
Like the one on Abe Lincoln.
So round his head was,
In which he was thinkin'.
The trees near the house,
Were so green and so tall,
Of which made the snowman seem so small.
His nose made of carrots,
His arms make of wood,
He'd move his arms,
If only he could.
And on the cold, winter night,
The smowman sat and he stared,
Because he knew that very soon,
Santa Clause would be there.

"The Manger So Full"
by: Jeremy Galvin

Along one cold frosty night,
With the stars shining so bright.
The little baby Jesus did lay.
Beside the little King the Mother Mary did stay.
Despite the cold night the wise men and angels did come to see,
The new little King that had just come to be.
Down from the Heavens the angels did come.
Beyond the mountains and valleys the wise men had traveled from.
During the night the King had come upon our earth.
The world would soon be changed because of this one birth.
"The Snowman"
by: Caitlin Hartman

In the snow he's not alone.
Around are rabbits, and a small pine cone.
Despite the cold they celebrate,
Past things that happened on this glorious date.
With all of the joy they bring today,
From this you can tell it's Christmas Day.
During this season they all get along,
For great company and to sing a Christmas song.
So the snowman and friends wish you holiday cheer,
Plus a wonderul, prosperous, Happy New Year!

"Flying in Circles"
by: Brennan Spiesz

Around a huge wreath,
Along all the green,
Past the many berries,
Beyond ribbon barely seen,
By some seeds,
Near the end,
In a circle,
Christmas is here once again.

"The Christmas Rose"
by: Aubry Stapleton

Among the soft crystal snows,
After the first drop of light,
A Christmas rose grows,
soft, dewey, and bright.

Throughout the whole land,
Along all the paths,
Will a rose ever be found,
So light, fair, and grand.

And throughout all of December,
The rose sits silent and still,
For those who'll remember,
The joy that Christmas can fill.

Despite all of the hardships that winter can bring,
It stays tall and untouched
Like the crown of a king.

And when Christmas is done,
And green returns to the land,
As the people tromp in fun,
Gone will be the rose so grand.

But then the year will pass,
And among the light of first snow,
Where underneath hides soft grass,
A Christmas rose will grow.
