Christmas Poems
3rd Hour

"Accounting for Friends"
by: Brittany Siefferman

Security
Is a bank account
I keep amid my mind.
Friends can make deposits,
to be returned in kind.

You like my smile?
My thought?
Inside my head,
for I stash your words away,
And when I'm low,
I make withdrawals
to help me feel okay.

I like your honesty
Your ideas
The choices that you make
I say the words, contributing
to our friendly give-and-take.

Friendship--an investment,
where kindness is repayed
with accumulating interest
In trust for future trade.

by: Zach Uppole

Upon the drifts of snow
Within Santa's workshop
Amid the hustle and bustle
His elves are hard at work
Inside the room warm and toasty
But soon the day arrives
Throughout the world children will wait
For Santa to bring them a great big surprise.

"Where's the Snowman?"
by: Brittany Wilson

Across the yard
Along the house
Behind the trees
Against the fence
Near the driveway
Beyond the shed
Down the hill is a great
Big snowman waiting for a friend
And now friends that is where the snowman is.

by: Chris Lindblom

When winter nears
The snowmen play
Along the fence,
Among their friends,
Upon their sleds,
Around the trees,
Across the fields,
Over the hills,
into the forest,
While Mom gets ready
for Chgristmas Day.

"Heaven Above"
by: Shawna Waters

Above my house is heaven
Below my house is not
Beside my house is a nice looking snowman
But mine he is not
Beneath the snowman is beautiful snow
Among the evergreen trees
For it was God who gave this all to me.

"Snowflakes"
by: Heather Dotson

Above the warm-heated snowman
Between the snowflakes, the wind blows
Despite the wind, the snowflakes fall perfectly
Throughout the towns below
along the rivers
Beside the trees
Like a white blanket covering the earth.

"Snow Day"
by: Shauna Laney

On a bright and snowy day.
As a snowman stands all warm and toasty.
Throughout the cold and wintry days the snowman seems to have nothing to say.
Until he suddenly thinks of a song and starts to sing.
Beside him the robin sits and merrily whistles the tune.
Despite the chilly winter snow they sing most of the afternoon.
