The committee brainstormed the following ideas

related to each of the times identified for conducting registration.

Spring Registration

1. Investigate how PCHS does payment plan at earlier time.
2. Use a spring conference time to do spring registration
3. Free & reduced lunch forms taken car at orientation day
4. Include free & reduced info in billing packet
   1. Centralized application site
5. Kdg. Projections would be more accurate with spring registration/screening
6. Change of Kdg. Screening to Kdg. Registration
7. Kdg registration/ done at Pre-School Center during May
8. Can Skyward produce Jully/August billing for spring registrations?
9. Are there budget $$ available for spring registration
   1. Incentives
   2. Postage  

Internet Registration

1. Set up access sites across town (library, Krogers, etc.)
2. District develops system (Skyward) to assure school secretary that payment has been made
3. District sets up secure site to accept credit card payments and collect personal info
4. Offer incentives (e.g., reduced fees) to those who regi9ster on-line
5. Community incentives issued through lottery, entered by registering before a certain date. (Incentives: local merchant donations)
6. Payment options, e.g., credit card, check in mail, PayPal, etc.
7. Start in May
8. Investigate whether or not the Free/Reduced forms can converted to online forms
9. Use district site for online registration, credit card payment, to avoid inconvenience experienced this year.

Late Registration

1. Provide a specific date/time at each building for those who missed registration day.  (Discussed not accepting registrations at the school at any other time.)
2. Employ extra helpers from district $$ to serve as receptionist at each school while secretary enters registration data.
3. Inform parents about the secretaries’ responsibilities as a reason that parents should come to registration day rather than interrupt the secretary at another time.
4. Charge and extra fee (convenience fee) from those who do not register on the designated day.

Before the next meeting on January 30, 2006, individual committee members will gather information on the brainstormed ideas.  The January meeting will address the following items:

1. The registration forms subcommittee drafts.
2. Drafting proposals for doing registration in spring, on Internet, as it is currently done, and/or with a late registration provision.
3. Planning what needs to be accomplished during or before the February meeting.
