Hi! My name is Allison Alvarez and I am excited to be finishing up my education at Illinois State University.  I will be receiving a Bachelors of Science in Education degree in order to teach K-9.  The Professional Development School in Pekin was a great choice for me to better develop the skills necessary to become a teacher.

I am originally from New Lenox, Illinois, which is a south suburb of Chicago.  I live with my wonderful and supportive parents, along with the best brother in the world-Luke (who is finishing his first year at ISU).     

Teaching has always been something I have wanted to do. I remember when I was younger making my brother and neighbor children play school with me. I was always the teacher, of course. I loved making worksheets and I even had my own grade book! Children inspire me and give me energy, which lets me know I have chosen the right profession. I feel good about my decision as a teacher, and I want to make an impact in each student's life I encounter.
