A teacher is more than an instructor.  I feel a teacher is one who inspires children, believes in them, and never gives up no matter how difficult the situation may be. 

Promoting life long learning skills are most important in changing a student's life. A well rounded education must consist of learning a variety of strategies that focus on skills needed to succeed.  Students need to know that what they are being taught is important and attainable.  Teaching in a variety of ways will increase success among different learners in the classroom.

More than anything, teaching must be shown with enthusiasm.  Children need to see that there is something in education to be excited about.  A teacher must show that learning is fun through their actions. 

Furthermore, being a teacher means being a role model.  We can never know when a child is looking at you as the one positive adult figure in their life.  We have a responsibilty to create respectable citizens of the future.
