Reflections

Here is a typical day at school with my mentor! Haha!!

I have learned many things from my student teaching experience.  Before starting, I had the fear that I would be isolated in my classroom with no support from other teachers.  I had a picture in my mind very similar to the one shown above!  My student teaching experience was nothing like the picture above.  I got to be a part of a collaborative team of educators who always had the best interest of the students at the front of our minds.  I was also nervous that I would not be comfortable in front of a class of students.  After my year long experience, my confidence as a teacher has shot through the roof!  I feel very comfortable teaching all the subject areas and working alongside fellow colleagues.  I know that I will continue to sharpen my skill as an educator through self reflection and workshops.  I am excited to see what types of adventures lie behind the doors of my classroom.  The best is still yet to come!
