My name is Jackie Brush. I am from Secor, Illinois, a very small town about 45 minutes east of Peoria. I enjoy swimming, traveling and rollerblading. I do not have any brothers or sisters, my dad works for an insurance company and my mom is a secretary for Cargill.
After graduating from Eureka High School in 2002, I then moved to Normal, Illinois to attend Illinois State University and major in Elementary Education. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was young, so my decision to go to Illinois State was an easy one.
On May 13th I will be graduating from ISU with a bachelors of science in education, after successfully completing a year long internship in the Pekin Professional Development School. This program gave me the experience to see a fifth grade class from August to May, and to see growth that occurred during the year. I am very excited to have a classroom of my own and to educate children!
