My name is Jory Clough. I grew up in Chicago, IL. After I graduated from Queen of Peace High School in 2002, I moved to New Lenox, IL with my parents and two younger brothers. Soon after, I moved again to Bloomington-Normal, IL to attend Illinois State University.
I chose to go to Illinois State University because it has an excellent education program. I knew right from the beginning that working with children was the only thing I could see myself doing. During my junior year, I chose to take part in the Pekin Professional Development School (PDS) internship. I knew that this program would be more work than traditional student teaching, but I felt this opportunity would be worth it in order to prepare myself to be an exceptional educator.
This year long internship was the best decision I have ever made. I have learned many skills that will be necessary to apply to my future classroom. I feel prepared and excited to take on a classroom of my own.
I have such a passion for teaching, but I have a love for many other things as well. I love spending time with family and friends, reading, doing arts and crafts, playing sports, and scrap booking. I also love going to the beach and relaxing!
I will be graduating from Illinois State University in May of 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree. Not only will I be graduating with a Bachelors degree, but will also have endorsements in the areas of language arts and social sciences. I have learned a lot over the past four years and I am anxious to put my knowledge to use in my own classroom. I want to have a positive impact on my school district, and I hope you will have a chance to experience my passion. |
