What is Pekin PDS?

The Professional Development School (PDS) model is a university-public school partnership that combines teacher education and school reform to improve student learning.

This yearlong extensive program allows the student teacher to see a classroom from the beginning to the end.  In Pekin 108's partnership with ISU, the program focuses on problem-based learning, incorporation of technology into the classroom, and collaborative instructional strategies.

This program allows the preservice teacher to have total immersion into the school culture, an intense clinical experience, quality Mentor-Intern team, and involvment in school-community relationships.
