The Professional Development School is a university-public school partnership that combines teacher education and school reform to improve student learning. There are four phases of the PDS program, which cover different aspects of student teaching. During my Phase one, I was involved in beginning of the year classroom and school activities in the second grade at Dirksen Elementary School. In my Phase two, I was placed in a sixth grade classroom at Wilson Intermediate School where I continued methods of instruction. Finally, in Phase three and Phase four I went back to my second grade classroom and was fully engrossed in planning, preparing, teaching, and attending school meetings. My Pekin Professional Development School experience was so rewarding and I am feel confident in my ability to teach!
