"A great teacher helps students believe that they can do anything, except fail."
I have two personal educational philosophies that I strive to reach in my own classroom.
To inspire children in becoming life-long learners who understand and celebrate their own unique gifts and talents.
To inspire children in rising above life's challenges in order to envision a future full of potential and possibilities in a nurturing and caring environment.
It is my personal belief that children learn through meaningful experiences. By experiencing their world through hands on activities, children take a more active role in their learning. Therefore, I will strive to provide opportunities for my students to learn by doing.
I also believe that teachers must tailor their instruction to meet the individual needs of their students. Children learn at different rates. A good teacher will realize this and differentiate her instruction to challenge each ability level.
Lastly, but most importantly, children need to feel nurtured and accepted by their educators. Teachers are viewed as role models by their students. It is their responsibility to be a positive example and set high standards in order for their students to succeed.
