WELCOME!
My name is Molly Jo Mendel. I grew up in the west suburbs of Chicago, to be specific, St. Charles. I am from a large family, with three brothers and three sisters. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and volunteer at the local horse barn and animal shelter. I love to go camping and travel throughout the states. My personal strengths are that I am extremely personable and passionate about my work.
My professional education started at Illinois State University in August of 2002. As a student at ISU, I discovered my true passion in life, teaching! While attending, I learned many valuable techniques through the variety of courses, and also met many great friends, whom I will never forget. While at ISU, I was fortunate enough to become a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I value my education and always put in my best work. As a result, during my junior year I was recgnized on the Dean's list and also the 2005 National Dean's List.
In August of 2005, I became a participant in the Pekin Professional Development School. There, I became an active member of the school district, while completing my year long internship. As a student teacher, I developed valuable teaching skills, discovered resources, and developed professional relationships. In May of 2006, I will graduate Cum Laude from Illinois State University with a Elementary Education degree, as well as endorsements in language arts, social science, and general science.
