My name is Rachel Knapp and I am currently finishing a year long internship in the Pekin Professional Development School.  I have always dreamed of becoming a teacher and today I stand at that threshold!

    I grew up in Congerville, Illinois.  I have one brother and two sisters.  I love to spend my free time reading, being active, and socializing with my family and friends!  I thoroughly enjoying sitting down with a pile of good books with my nephew and two nieces!

    Growing up, I loved to help a first grade teacher with various tasks in her classroom.  While in high school, during my study hall, I would assist this same teacher in any way that I could.  After graduating from high school, I was hired on as a teachers' aide at a private school.  Later in the year, I officially became the kindergarten teacher.  After a year, I decided to continue my education to become certified in teaching. 

    Now that I have reached my goal of becoming a certified teacher, I look forward to having a classroom of my own!
