All children can learn. These four words sum up what I believe about education. This is also just about the only thing the children in my classroom will have in common.

The differences, however, will be extensive. They will have different backgrounds, cultures, prior knowledge and learning styles.  In order for a teacher to be successful, he or she must thoroughly get to know the children in their care and then differentiate their instruction to reach all students.

Another important component of my philosophy, that will ensure that all children can learn, is to create a safe and compassionate learning environment. It is necessary for the children to feel they can take risks and try new things.

I feel it is important to note that my educational philosophy is a dynamic entity; it is constantly changing and evolving as my experiences become more varied.
