Cat in the Hat Celebration

When trying to decide where I wanted to student teach, I realized I needed to stay close to home. The Pekin Professional Development School offered me the perfect opportunity to work close to home and maximize the time I had in a real classroom.

There are four phases in the PDS program. I spent Phase I in a kindergarten classroom at Dirksen Primary School. This unique opportunity allowed me to see the beginning of the school year with the children I would be teaching in the spring.

Phase II was spent in a 4th grade classroom at Washington Intermediate School. This experience allowed me to spend time in a different grade level and learn from a different mentor.

For Phase III and IV, I returned to Mrs. Carr's kindergarten class. The time I spent in the classroom has provided me with some wonderful memories and learning experiences that will be with me forever.

All of these precious experiences were made possible because of the Pekin Professional Development School. I would not have it any other way!
