Becky Rulis's Professional Portfolio
Reflections

As I near the end of my student teaching experience I cannot believe how much I have grown in the past 9 months.  In August, I entered the PDS program feeling nervous and overwhelmed. I vividly remember my first day in the classroom and was I scared!

Fortunately, that is no longer the case! I am no longer scared; rather I am excited each day  for the challenges and joys I will face.

It is because of the Professional Development Program that I now feel this way.  The support and experience I received through this program has been tremendous.  After a full year as a student intern, I now feel I can handle any situation that may arise when I have my own classroom.

Of course I could not have done this without the support and guidance of Mike Muren, Mary Lange, Teri Carr, Sharon Murphy, and Pam Rosa.  My family has also been very supportive. My daughters are so excited that their mom is "finally going to be a teacher"!
