About Me

My name is Stacey VerVynck.  I grew up in Willow Springs, Illinois with my older sister, younger bother and my parents.  After graduating from Lyons Township High School in 2002, I decided to attend Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.  In the fall of 2002 I began my journey working towards my Bachelors of Science in Education.  In May 2006, I will be graduating from the University with my Bachelors degree with endorsements in the area of middle school, language arts and social sciences.

This year I have had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Pekin Professional Development School during the course of my senior year.  I worked as a year long intern in both a 3rd grade and 5th grade classroom.  I feel this experience has prepared me, for the many challenges ahead of me.

My love for children has taken me everywhere during my four years at Illinois State University. I have participated in many tutoring programs as well as reading based volunteer work. Along side of working with the University, I also worked at the YWCA in Bloomington, teaching swimming lessons four nights a week.

I have learned so much over my four years at Illinois State University.  I am excited to put all of my knowledge into my classroom and watch my students develop into life long learners.
