Reflections

Signing up for Pekin PDS was one of the smartest decisions I ever made.  At first I was not sure if I was up for the challenge, but as soon as I walked in my classroom I knew that I was.  It is a program that you must dedicate 110% of your time to.  By the end of the year, that time paid off.

When I finished my internship, I thought back on all the experiences I had and what I learned from them.  I am now confident when it comes to communication with parents and faculty.  My classroom management has grown immensely, and I have finally found that teacher’s voice.  I am able to create well developed lesson plans, and I am confident in my instructional approach.

This year went by extremely fast.  I feel as though I started just yesterday.  It is sad to see it end, but I know that I am ready for the next challenge.  The time has come for me to embrace a new adventure as an elementary school teacher.
