'It is today we must create the world of the future.'

Eleanor Roosevelt

I believe that without the teaching profession the world’s people would be greatly underserved. A teacher spends as much time if not more with a child than the child does with their own family during the week, therefore becoming an influential and key part of a child’s life. I believe it is my duty to help shape the lives of youth in America so that they can become informed, functional citizens and make our future brighter. I feel I can do this by creating an environment where my students feel safe to be themselves and free to learn. I will do this by establishing rules, procedures, setting clear expectations and consequences. I believe that each student should know that their teacher is there to help them be successful in every way possible and is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that happens. I feel it is imperative to use varying assessment tools, differentiate learning whenever possible, and incorporate as many learning modalities into each lesson to guarantee my students the most out of their education. I also believe that each student has the ability to learn, and that it is my duty to help them work to the best of their ability by utilizing various teaching strategies.
