A thirst for knowledge and love for learning has always been a part of my life. Luckily, my creativity and learning were fostered by caring teachers who taught me the importance of being a lifelong learner. This is a legacy I want to impart on the children that I will be teaching.
Every child is unique and deserves a safe, warm environment in which to learn. As a teacher, I know that all children are affected by what happens in their environment, both at home and in school. Although I can't control what happens at home, I can control what happens in my classroom. Every student will feel special and cared for in my class. They will know that they have an adult who cares about the person that they are, and the person they can become. I know that childhood and adolescence are critical times in peoples’ lives, and I respect the changes that students go through during these periods. I will make the transitions as smooth as possible and be available for instruction and advice.
Since each child is unique in his or her own way, I know there will be a diverse mix in my classroom. Not all children learn alike so I will use a wide variety of teaching strategies to help my students learn. It will be my responsibility to discover what methods work best with each child, and I will differentiate my lessons to encompass all learners. Learning style variances will not be the only diversity for which I will have to attend. I know that my students will come from different backgrounds, both cultural and economic, and I will honor and respect these differences as we build our own community. Each important member of our community will be respected for who they are and what experiences they can share
My enthusiasm for education and learning will be evident from the first day I step into my classroom. I will bring excitement and creativity to my lessons to not only teach the content, but to help the students remember what they have learned. My students will learn, not because they have to, but because they want to!

As I stated earlier, I am a lifelong learner. Teachers influence and change the lives of all the children that enter their classrooms. I will try my best to be a teacher who makes a difference in the lives of all my students.
The whole purpose of education is
to turn mirrors into windows.
