My name is Alisa McIntosh. I live in Washington with my husband and four children, ranging from 13 years to 23 years of age.
My spare time is spent with my family watching their sports events and going on vacations. I enjoy amusement parks and traveling.
I have been in the US Army, worked for the federal government with the Department of Defense, US Justice Department and the US Courts. Since graduating high school, I have lived in Central America in Panama for ten years and lived in numerous states. I have had vast life experiences that I am excited to bring into the classroom to enhance my lessons.
I have learned to become a leader and team player through my intense training with the military. I also learned to overcome my own insecurities to be willing to try new things and take the chance. I have learned the workings of the court system first hand with working for the US Courts as a Courtroom Deputy for a Magistrate Judge and a District Court Judge.
I have tutored many at risk children through CommonPlace on the southside of Peoria, Illinois. I have volunteered with the youth groups through my church over the past 10 years. I have also taught Sunday school for the past 13 years in various grade levels.
I have had the fantastic opportunity to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a teacher. I look forward to using my life experiences to enhance my lessons for my students.
