Educational Philosophy

I feel that is is very important for a teacher to develop a philosophy in which she is going to guide her professional practice.  Without a philosophy to drive her efforts, it would be easy to fall into the blame game and other negative activities that brings a classroom down.  The philosophy I have tried to use is the FISH philosophy.  This philosophy states that you want to CHOOSE YOUR ATTITUDE.  Attitude can make or break a day.  The students will pick up a negative attitude just as easy as they will pick up a positive one.  A teacher needs to make sure that the attitude the students pick up is a positive one.  You want to BE THERE for your students.  It is important to stay focused for your students when they need you.  You want to PLAY to make sure that you and your students have fun while learning.  You want to MAKE THEIR DAY each and every day.  Sometimes this may be the only thing that makes their day and it can have a huge impact on a child.  Engage your students while teaching the lesson.
