My name is Melissa Fordonski. I grew up in Geneva, Illinois. I have a very loving family which I adore. My mom, dad and two older siblings live in the western suburbs, along with my puppy Rudy. In my spare time I love to shop, read, be outdoors and active, and socialize with my family and friends. My true passion is traveling. I have been all over the United States and just last summer visited Europe. I am always up for visiting somewhere new and exciting, and taking my students on virtual field trips to where I have been!

Growing up I had many ambitions and dreams, many of them including multiple careers. It was not until I was truly inspired by one of my teachers in high school that I knew that I wanted to be teacher. This teacher made me realize that learning is intrinsically motivated, and only you can make yourself a learner. Watching him instill the drive to learn into all his students through effective instruction and fun activities made me realize that I wanted to have the same positive effect that he had on me on my future students.

As I wrap up this wonderful experience, I am excited to use the knowledge I have attained to create my very own classroom and facilitate their drive to be life long learners.
