Student teaching was one of the hardest things for me to get a grasp on when I started. I never truly experienced being in an elementary grade because I was home schooled.  All the experiences were new for me, but I learned a lot. I not only grew professionally but personally.  At the beginning of the year I was not assertive enough for my class. As the year progressed, I learned how to be assertive. This helped me to gain respect from my students.  I still need to grow, but I know I will continue to grow in all aspects of teaching.
